Peacefully, in the great care of the doctors, nurses and staff at Sligo University Hospital. Paddy, predeceased by his beloved wife Mary and his sons John and Padraig.

Loving father of Caroline Collery and partner of Mary T. Gallagher. He will be sadly missed by his daughter, loving partner, son-in-law Seamie, daughter-in-law Jackie, his adored grandchildren Zara, Áine, Árón, Robyn, Emma and Shauna, great-grandchildren Elena, Sofia, Cára and Lucia, brother Andrew, nephews, nieces, in-laws, relatives and friends.

Reposing at Seamie and Caroline’s home, Rosses Point, Sligo (F91 TOA4) on Friday from 1:00pm to 8:00pm. Funeral will arrive to St. Columba’s Church, Rosses Point on Saturday at 1:00pm for Requiem mass followed by burial at Rosses Point Cemetery.

Family flowers only. Donations in lieu of flowers if desired to Sligo Bay Lifeboat RNLI, care of The Foley and McGowan Funeral Home, Market Yard, Sligo.

Paddy was a very esteemed and talented judge of Emma and I’s fashion shows growing up where we would make outfits from Emma’s box of random materials and do a fashion show with Paddy as the judge! He was a true gentleman, a pillar of the village and will be greatly missed. Sending you all lots of love, Suvi x

  6. My deepest sympathy on your very sad loss. Paddy did his work as if it was personal for himself and he remained friendly with all of those he worked with. In my days of transport Paddy was available day and night to ensure the problems were solved and the trucks kept rolling. I am proud to say he and I remained great friends. Rest In Peace Paddy. You were one in a million.

Those who remember the school trip to Owey Island in 1979 will recall that Paddy was our “go to” guy and main man, in pretty much everything, especially when the starting cord broke on the outboard engine and it looked like we were going to be stranded ! Thank you Paddy for saving the day.
