Peacefully, after a short illness, surrounded by her loving family in the great care of the doctors, nurses and staff at Sligo University Hospital.
Predeceased by her infant daughter Nicola, parents Tommy and Rosie Oates and brothers Thomas and Martin.
Beloved wife of Billy and dear mother of Michelle, Darren and Craig.
She will be sadly missed by her husband, daughter, sons, sister Jennifer, grandchildren Kensie, Saoirse, Ollie and Sophie, son-in-law Declan Kelly, daughter-in-law Aideen, Craig’s partner Shannon, brother-in-law Richie Nugent, nephews, in-laws, relatives and friends.

Reposing at The Foley and McGowan Funeral Home, Market Yard, Sligo on Monday 13th April from 6:00pm to 8:00pm. Funeral will arrive at St. Anne’s Church, Sligo on Tuesday 14th April at 11:00am for Requiem mass, with funeral proceeding to Sligo Cemetery for burial after.

Sincere sympathy to Billy Michelle Darren Craig and grandchildren also to Jennifer Killian and Richie. Everything about Maura was good, she was the kindest and most generous person one could ever meet. She had a fantastic sense of humour always cheerful and smiling.
Maura was my next door neighbour in St. Anne’s I knew her from birth every chance she got she came into our house and would spend endless hours viewing my mother’s glass cabinet with all the ornaments such happy memories of a well behaved and beautiful child.

I am so very sad to hear of the passing of my Mercy College school friend, Maura, which came as a great shock. Having left Sligo in 1987, Maura was always very happy to stop for a quick chat with me anytime I bumped into her on my visits home to Doorly Park from Kenya. My sincere condolences to Billy, their children, and all their extended family. Rest in peace Maura.
