  1. I am sad beyond belief at Marys passing. She was such a huge part of childhood and a better friend I couldn’t have asked for. We spent many days getting up to mischief and I always look back on those days with a smile. Rest well dear friend, you were truly loved. X

  2. So sorry to hear about Mary’s passing. When she was travelling by train across Canada, she had stopped in Saskatoon and spent a few days with us. Enjoyed her visit very much.

  3. You’ve taken off at last, Mary.

    On the wing,

    a sparkling murmuration.

Fast and light with the starlings,

Industrious and loyal with the swallows,

Camouflaged with the tidy wrens – until you call.

We will scan the skies for you each new spring

And draw a smile across our faces

When we hear your familiar song.

  4. Our deepest sympathy to all of Mary’s Family. We are devastated to hear the news of Mary’s passing. We will miss her on the mountains so very much. She will be remembered every time the wind blows softly past us. Our mountaineering hikes will never be the same again. Mary you are closer now to the tallest of all summits and we know you are looking down on us. Fly high with the birds you loved so much. You will be missed. ❤️

  5. Fionnuala, my heart is broken for you. Mary was one in a million, just a beautiful soul. Go raibh suaimhneas síoraí ar a hanam.

  9. Deep sympathy to Fionnuala on the loss of Mary. To loose a beloved wife and friend is hard. Wish you strength to endure it and heal again.
    There is a poem :
Do not stand at my grave and weep
    I am not there
    I do not sleep
I am a thousand winds that blow, I am the diamond glint on snow. I am the sunlight on the ripened grain , I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awake in the morning bush, I am the swift uplifting rush of quiet birds in circling flight.
Do not stand at my grave and weep – I am not there. – I do not sleep

  10. I am so sorry to hear of Mary’s untimely death. We worked together in IT Sligo for the most of a year in 2014/15. Mary was wonderful, bringing calmness, perspective and wit to our work. We loved hearing the progress on the kit out of her campervan, beekeeping and woodworking. I was sad to see her leave our team but very glad to meet her in Liber many times afterwards. Her smile was beautiful. Deepest sympathies to Fionnuala, Mary’s brothers and extended family and her many friends. May Mary rest in peace.

  11. What a loss for the world. Mary was a lovely soul, so generous and warm. Deepest sympathies to Fionnuala and to all who loved her.

  12. Unbelievably saddened by Mary’s passing. We will cherish all our times together, Mary’s wonderful hospitality, her love of nature, our walks and meals together. We will miss her kindness and lovely smile. Deepest sympathy and love for Fionnuala at this time and for all Mary’s friends and family.

  13. When the tree falls
    Into the river
    It slows the current

    Water pools
    In the hollows it makes

    Pike and trout
Find a new place to hide

    Beetles mayfly and mites
    Feed on leaf litter

    The mossy trunk
    Lies still as a bridge

    A kingingfisher settles
    Watches for minnow

    Branches reach for the light
    Noble with new buds

Poem by Jane Clarke to Fionnuala, Mary’s family and all of her many and treasured friends – may we notice and nurture the new buds that will come from the sad and too soon loss of Mary.

May her gentle, kind, funny, curious, loving and oh so courageous soul rest in peace.

We all loved her and will miss her beyond measure 🧚‍♂️
