John, predeceased by his parents Mick and Molly, sister Josie Mallett and brothers Mickey and Eddie.
Beloved brother of Tom (UK), Marina and Ann.
He will be sadly missed by his brother, sisters, sister-in-law Diane, brothers-in-law David and Ray, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Reposing at his residence on 10th December from 4:00pm to 8:00pm. Funeral will arrive at St. Anne’s Church, Sligo on 11th December at 11:00am for Requiem mass, with funeral proceeding to Sligo Cemetery for burial after.

John was such a wonderful person, one of Sligo’s best. I haven’t lived in Sligo for many years but whenever back from Australia for a visit John always had a warm welcome if we met. When I was involved with the band ‘Reverb’ back in the early 80’s John had some great advice- In particular on how to do a Bono impression while attempting to cover I will follow!!!- May he rest easy. Got to know John when he trained regularly with our juvenile football teams, Slashers, Distillery and Cranmore Celtic and became keenly involved in many other sports when he joined St Anne’s Youth Club. Proved himself a star at Star Records; knew my music. May John now Rest In Peace.

I have just learned today of John sad passing, its very difficult to believe John has left us.
I knew John when I lived in Sligo almost 30 years ago & he worked in Star records then. We had many, many laughs over the years. We continued to keep in touch in later years through Facebook mainly, from time to time. I always enjoyed his early morning words of wisdom posts on fb.
Sligo has lost a gentleman, I offer my sincere condolences to his brother Tom, sisters Marina & Ann.
