The death has occurred peacefully of Edmund O’Grady, surrounded by his loving family in the exceptional care of the doctors, nurses and staff at Sligo University Hospital, I.C.U.
Edmund, predeceased by his parents Nancy and John and brother Cecil O’Grady and Mary’s parents John and Rita Conlon.
Beloved husband of Mary and dear father of Eddie, Michael (Edel) and Martell.
He will be sadly missed by his wife, sons, daughter, his adored grandchildren, brother Frank, sister Sharon (Tommy), the extended Conlon families, relatives, neighbours and friends.

Reposing at The Foley and McGowan Funeral Home, Market Yard, Sligo on Friday 14th August 2026 from 5:30pm to 7:00pm.
Funeral will arrive at The Cathedral of The Immaculate Conception, Sligo on Saturday 15th August 2026 at 11:30am for Requiem Mass with funeral proceeding to McGowan’s Crematorium and Funeral Home, Collooney, Co. Sligo (F91AKW5) for a Cremation Service for family and friends.

I am so deeply sorry to hear that Edmund has passed away. Even though I can’t be there with you in Ireland right now, please know that my thoughts and love are with you all.
Edmund was such a lovely, wonderful man. I will always remember his kindness, his warmth, and the way he could light up a room just by being in it. He leaves a space that cannot be filled, and I feel the loss of him keenly even from afar.
I wish more than anything that I could be there to share in the memories, the stories, and the comfort of family. Please know that I am holding you all close in my heart during this terribly difficult time.
