Predeceased by her dear husband Peter Schmidt, parents Don and Mary Quinn and her sister Carmel Mahon.
Beloved and forever cherished mother of loving daughters Aisling Schmidt-Lavelle and Ciara Schmidt-Ludwig.
She will be sadly missed by her daughters, adored granddaughter Éala, Sons-in-law John and Jonas, Sisters Marie, Jean, Bernie, Caroline, brothers Donal, Gerry and Damien, Sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours and good friends.

Reposing at her residence Radharc na Mara, Strandhill, Sligo (F91XOD9) on Friday 5th June 2026 from 5:00pm to 8:00pm
Funeral will arrive to The Cathedral Of The Immaculate Conception, Sligo (F91CF59) on Saturday 6th June 2026 at 11:30am, for requiem mass followed by burial in St. Patrick’s cemetery, Scarden.

Was at school with your mum and we had some serious laughs. We were in the Mercy operas together. The one I remember clearly was The White Horse Inn where she had us in stitches every night with her singing “I’m utter mutter always merry and bright” She was lovely and I am so sad to hear of her passing. I have the fondest memories of an incredible lady, my Godmother. She clearly had more of an influence on my life than any of us realised — I even ended up with the same surname!
One memory that has always stayed with me is her delight in giving me, at eight years old, a purse made of “real camel skin,” while wearing a turban from Saudi Arabia. My brothers and I were absolutely in awe.
