Peacefully, surrounded by his loving family at his residence. Charlie, loving husband of Maeve and dear father of Tina, Maeve, Cathal & David. He will be sadly missed by his wife, daughters, sons, grandchildren Emily, Luke, Mark, Ciara, Alan, Jake, Rachel & Aisling, sons-in-law Martin and Shane, daughters-in-law Mandy and Roisin, relatives and friends.

Rest in Peace.

Reposing at the Foley & Mc Gowan Funeral home, Market Yard, Sligo on Wednesday evening from 6:00pm to 7:00pm. Funeral will arrive to the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, Sligo on Thursday morning for requiem mass at 11:15am. Funeral will proceed to St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Scarden for burial after.

So sorry to hear of Charlie’s passing, he was a real footballing man,and a huge influence on all of us who had the pleasure of being coached by himself and the late Kevin Gordon, he was a true gentleman and the greatest thing he taught us all was respect. Respect for your coaches, respect for your teammates, respect for your opposition. RIP Charlie one of life’s good guys, condolences to all the family at this sad time in your lives.

  12. A quiet, congenial man with a quick wit…he could get his point across when the timing was just right! He was always quick to acknowledge the neighbourhood kids on our street even if it was just “How’s it going Son?!” He loved his soccer and keeping fit. Wishing his lovely bride Maeve comfort during this difficult time. Nice to hear that he got to spend his last days in his home surrounded by his loving family. Condolences to all.
